ベネッセアートサイト直島に展示されている《スラグブッダ88 ― 豊島の産業廃棄物処理後のスラグで作られた88体の仏》は直島の八十八か所の仏像をモチーフとし、産業廃棄物を焼却処理した後に生じるスラグを素材に2006年に作られました。それ以降、池の畔に展示されていましたが、ヴァレーギャラリー整備で作品近くまでの歩道がつながり、より近くから作品をご覧いただけるようになりました。

“Slag Buddha 88” by Tsuyoshi Ozawa at the Valley Gallery was inspired by the 88 Buddha statuettes in Naoshima and was made of the slag from industrial waste and was exhibited quietly by the pond from 2006. Recent renovations have connected the approach to the works of art, allowing visitors to view them more closely.
